What determines if I will qualify for super preferred, preferred, standard plus or standard life insurance rates?
Each life insurance company determines its own guidelines on weight to height, cholesterol level, blood pressure readings, and any significant personal health issues. Family health history is also a factor used in qualifying for the lowest super preferred or best rates. Additionally, to obtain the lowest possible rates you cannot use tobacco of any type. You must not have a history of alcohol abuse or drug use. You may not be involved in hazardous activities. To review a summary of general underwriting guidelines click here. Since each company sets their own unique criteria to qualify for super preferred, preferred, standard plus and standard rates, it is possible for one company to rate an individual as standard and another company to rate the very same person as preferred. When completing your quote, our health class analyzer will ask a brief series of health and family history questions that will allow your individual term life insurance rates to be quoted based on each individual life insurance company's underwriting guidelines. |
